Jess Phillips visits the Foodbank
Last week Jess Phillips, MP for Yardley, visited the Foodbank on behalf of a client.
At the Foodbank, we receive clients referred by Job Centres, councillors, MPs, doctors, headteachers, social workers, support workers, housing officers, religious leaders,.......the list goes on. Last week we were happy to see Jess Phillips, MP for Yardley, who came to the Foodbank personally to collect and deliver food to a client. She got to experience the same reception that all clients get - offered a drink and biscuits while being charmed by our efficient receptionist, Bob - so it was great for us to get feedback on the welcome she received.
The Foodbank acts when people find themselves in crisis by giving enough food for three days for each client. We also encourage clients to access our other services such as our Money Adviser, Job Club, and Place of Welcome to combat loneliness and help people out of debt and unemployment.
