Our Services

The Job Marston Centre currently supports six services in addition to room hire; Job Club, Place of Welcome, Money Advice, Press Pause, Social Work Drop-in Clinic (in partnership with Birmingham City Council) and a food bank (in partnership with The Church of the Ascension, Narthex, and the Trussell Trust).

Job Club

Service suspended until safe to reopen.
We're using this time to plan new ways to help you in your search for employment and volunteering opportunities.

Our friendly, professional staff have enjoyed helping and supporting you with CV writing, job searching, application forms, interview practice, and much more.
This is a bespoke service, tailored to your individual needs and we have loved hearing of all your successes.  Check out some of our good news stories on the News page.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our weekly Job Club in the future.

Place of Welcome

Service suspended until safe to reopen.
We are missing the community that had built up at this drop-in service - the food, the fun, the arts and crafts, the chat, the games, the laughter, but most of all the people.  We hope to be back soon to see you all and new faces too.
Everyone is welcome at our Place of Welcome.

Money Advice

Service changed to a telephone service - making it safer for you and our adviser.
Our experienced money adviser can offer help on a range of money issues including debt management, rent arrears, benefits, and universal credit.
Appointments are available every Friday 10.30am to 1.30pm and 2.15pm to 5pm.
To book an appointment please call:

In partnership with Narthex (Sparkhill Foodbank) and the Church of the Ascension, a Trussell Trust foodbank is held in the Church Hall every Friday 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
Entrance is via the side of the Church Hall (to the left as you walk through the car park).  There are hand washing facilities for all service users and physical distancing (2m) practices are advised.  All volunteers are following Government and Local Authority guidelines to keep service users and volunteers safe.
If you have a Trussell Trust Foodbank voucher, our friendly volunteers are waiting to serve you.  Find out more information on how to get a voucher here or contact Jon at  jonhmeadows@btinternet.com or 07590 927284.
Donations can also be dropped off at this time.  We are particularly short of tinned spaghetti, tinned tomatoes, tins of soup, tinned fruit, tins of rice pudding, cartons of UHT milk, and cartons of longlife fruit juice.  Thank you for all your help - past, present, and future.
